90 Minute Yoga-Puncture Classes

Please join Dr. Shanna Hudgin of the Zhen Center in North Yarmouth and Jessica Petrie for a special 90 minute Restorative Yoga and Acupuncture class. During this class Jessica will guide students into Restorative yoga poses. In each pose Dr. Hudgin will place acupuncture needles in key release points; for example, the forehead, wrists, feet and ears. The postures and needle placements in this class will be held for 10 to 15 minutes each. Acupuncture works with the nervous system by promoting balance in the body to relieve pain, relax muscles, and reduce stress and anxiety. The benefit of performing yoga while getting acupuncture is that it strengthens the mind-body connection and deepens relaxation. There are eight spots open in the studio for this special healing class and the cost is $50 per student.

Outdoor Yoga at The Farm 2021

Last summer we had a wonderful time doing Field Yoga & Flower Arranging with Farmer Steph of Farm to Table Kids at Skyline Farm in North Yarmouth Maine. Stephanie and Jessie are putting their heads together to get some more Yoga and Farm activities for adults events on the calendar for the 2021 outdoor season. There will be some spring classes and late summer classes in August. Email jessie@yoga-next-door.com to be first to know when registration for these events opens.

Free Yoga For Maine School Teachers & Staff

If you are a Maine schools staff member interested in yoga please email Yoga Next Door to access your free classes. Teachers and school staff have gone above and beyond to support our children during Covid. A local donor had the idea of thanking and supporting our teachers with free yoga classes. The free classes were first announced on social media for local MSAD51 staff and the school and community response was overwhelmingly positive. Teachers felt seen and grateful for the opportunity to access some much needed yoga and the community responded by donating more yoga classes for teachers and school staff. Since so many classes were donated we have expanded the pool to Maine school staff in addition to MSAD51 staff. If you know a school staff member that could use some free yoga (2 classes per teacher) send them my way. If you would like to contribute some free yoga classes for teachers please donate here. Namaste! Jessie

One Free Teacher Class

This pass will be donated to a MSAD51 teacher or staff member to use for a studio or online Yoga Next Door class.
