Restorative Yoga & Acupuncture “Yoga-Puncture” Classes

Restorative Yoga & Acupuncture

Please join Dr. Shanna Hudgin of the Zhen Center in North Yarmouth and Jessica Petrie for a special 90 minute Restorative Yoga and Acupuncture class. During this class Jessica guides students into Restorative yoga poses. In each pose Dr. Hudgin places acupuncture needles in key release points; for example, the forehead, wrists, feet and ears. The postures and needle placements in this class will be held for 10 to 15 minutes each. Acupuncture works with the nervous system by promoting balance in the body to relieve pain, relax muscles, and reduce stress and anxiety. The benefit of performing yoga while getting acupuncture is that it strengthens the mind-body connection and deepens relaxation. There are eight spots open in the studio for this special healing class and the cost is $60 per student

“I am a believer.  I don’t know whether it was the Restorative or the little needles, but my upper back and shoulders are “loose” for the first time in years.  My head turns with no strain.  I have had no brain fog today. I woke up this morning, got out of bed and thought, nothing hurts.  Awesome class.  Can’t wait for the next.” – GT Yoga-Puncture Class Participant

Deep Rest Restorative Yoga with Jessie

Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is a gentle form of yoga that helps restore balance to the whole person. Restorative postures are fully supported by props the hold the body physically and promote relaxation. Restorative focuses on opening, guided breathwork and meditation to calm the nervous system and mind.  With practice Restorative Yoga can change habitual mind and body patterns, facilitate emotional healing and increase self-awareness and mindfulness. These classes are $25 for studio students and $15 for Zoom students. Studio pass holders can use two class passes for these classes. The monthly Deep Rest Restorative Classes are also included in the Monthly Unlimited Passes.

“Jessie’s restorative yoga is the yoga class you never knew you needed. You reach a meditative state that completely allows your body and mind to shift to a place of peace and presence. It provides time to shut out the outside world, honor yourself and connect with your spirituality. You leave feeling as if the universe is on your side and in a state of calm and positivity.” – NN

Chakra Energy Healing Workshop

Pam Brewer of The Well Within Soul and Jessie will host a afternoon workshop to learn about and balance the Chakra energy system in our bodies. See Pam’s Bio below. This workshop will include an introduction to the Chakras and the Integrated Energy Therapy work Pam does to help people identify and heal Chakra related issues. Jessie will lead a 45 minute Chakra balancing flow. This afternoon also includes guided meditation, journaling exercises and Sankalpa writing. Tea will be served. This offering is intentionally timed around the end of Daylights Savings when our energy is lowest and we are entering a quieter more restful period of listening and healing.
