Special Classes

Monthly Yoga Nidra with Tori Norton

Tori Norton offers a monthly Friday evening Yoga Nidra class in the fall and winter at Yoga Next Door. These 75 minute classes will feature Yin Yoga postures to release tension from the body and Yoga Nidra guided meditations for deep relaxation. Yin Yoga is a meditative yoga practice. In Yin Yoga, the poses are typically held for three to five minutes or longer on the floor to target the connective tissues (such as the fascia & ligaments) rather than focusing on the muscles. The Yoga Nidra (guided meditation) portion of the class, impacts the area of the brain responsible for REM sleep and has the potential to offer the subconscious subtle shifts that offer a fresh view of life.

Stay tuned for the return of this series in October 2023!

Restorative Yoga with Reiki Energy Work with Julie Spugnardi

Restorative Yoga with Reiki

Julie Spugnadri offers Restorative Yoga & Reiki Energy Work classes at Yoga Next Door. Reiki is a technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. In this practice the Reiki Master moves unseen “life force” or “universal” energy through the palms of their hands to the client in order to encourage emotional or physical healing. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then they are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, they are more attended to health and happiness. In restorative yoga we relax the mind and body to create space for opening and healing. All restorative poses are supported by props and held on the mat. While in a posture, students will have the option to receive hands-on Reiki from the instructor. In addition, affirmations and mantras will be used for help with focusing the mind.

Stay tuned these classes will resume in October 2023!

“Jessie’s restorative yoga is the yoga class you never knew you needed. You reach a meditative state that completely allows your body and mind to shift to a place of peace and presence. It provides time to shut out the outside world, honor yourself and connect with your spirituality. You leave feeling as if the universe is on your side and in a state of calm and positivity.” – NN

These series are included in the Unlimited Pass. Email jessie@yoga-next-door.com if you would like to be the first to learn about Annie’s next workshop series.
